If you have little humans in your family or circle, they are going to love these new additions to the Spot collection. The very first Spot lift-the-flap, the classic Where’s Spot?, was published in 1980 and, as I’ve mentioned before when I reviewed the anniversary edition was the first book I bought The Kid’s mum, when she was a baby, so Spot has a very special place in my heart.
These sturdy board books are perfect for the ‘slide’ reveal and we know that all little kids are fascinated with farm life and animals. I particularly love that the sliders that move outside the page edges have a little surprise on the other side and not just plain background.
Why not buy the other titles at the same time as you pick up this one? The munchkins will thank you!
Highly recommended for babies up to Prep so pre-order now.

Honestly, I could enjoy Spot for another 40 years. The first book I ever bought my youngest child, The Kid’s mummy (born 1980, the same year as Spot!) was Where’s Spot?, so this little pup has a soft spot in my heart forever.
This is a new edition of a previously published board book and, of course, it’s lovely to re-visit favourites when they are dressed in fresh colours. Little humans’ joy in the repeated ‘surprise’ of lifting the flaps to see the next happy moment in Spot’s day just never gets tired. I only wish I had knew some tiny person with whom I could share it!.
If you know someone with a new baby, or expecting one, this is going to be a lovely gift. If you have an audience of tiny tots, it’s a must have. Just watch their eyes light up and their cries of delight at each reveal.
Not sure who will be the lucky recipient of this review copy but perhaps just a mum or dad at my local coffee hang out, where reading is valued and strollers are abundant.
The cover image does not do this beauty justice – you need to see it for yourself in all its shiny ruby glory!!
It’s almost my Jen’s birthday – she would have been turning 40 on 22nd of this month and how apt it is to be able to review this as it was the first book I ever bought her (and later on all the subsequent titles).
Spot’s charm is timeless and all little people love to follow the playful pup as they search through the ‘lift-the-flaps’. It is arguably the favourite of its kind for all little readers over so many years.
Perfect for sharing and encouraging curiosity and imagination it will be the seed of a whole Spot collection for many of a new generation.
I don’t have any little ones in the family any more but not surprisingly I’m pretty sure for special reasons this one will stay on my own shelf – perhaps our girl will grow up and have a little one of her own and she can give her Mum’s favourite to her own child.
It doesn’t need any recommendation from me but of course you must have it in your collection – your littlest readers will love to get their hands on it!
